Design of Electrical Hardware and Software for Industrial Production Machinery

• Develop quotation for electrical systems, including purchased components and labor
• Design of safety control circuit, hardware circuit, and generating hardware drawings
• Creation of machine software to control the machine (PLC, Robot, Vision, Servo Motors, etc.)
• Adjustment / debug of the machine software during machine construction
• Updating final electrical drawings to reflect changes made during machine construction
• Create electrical portion of the machine operation manual

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• 1 year related experience or co-op equivalent

Production Maintenance:  Troubleshooting / repairing complex production operating systems. Technicians work on both electrical and mechanical systems (Robotics, Pneumatics, Hydraulics etc.).  Extensive PLC troubleshooting and programming as well as mechanical overhaul and adjustment of machinery.  Daily and preventative maintenance on automated equipment.  Knowledge of control wiring, strong computer skills and project management skills preferred.

This position will serve as the Starter/Alternator Division Production Engineering Parts Group heat treat and metallurgical expert. The engineering candidate for this position will have daily line responsibilities in the heat treating and cold forging department which will include quality investigations, productivity improvements and scrap reduction. They will also be responsible for process design, equipment specifications, procurements, installation and start-up of capital investments. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for any new product related to the area of responsibility, which will include initial feasibility studies, machine modifications, new product documentation and initial quality confirmation.

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgical Engineering

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Minimum of 3 years in the Heat Treat or Metallurgical Industry

Responsibilities include:

1. Build / wire electrical control panels, wire automated equipment, debug start-up of new machines. PLC programming and modification of existing automated production equipment.

2 Experienced programming on Allen Bradley and Omron PLC's is a must.

3. Able to provide technical support during the build and adjustment of equipment.

4. Working weekends, some holidays and shutdown are required.

5. Support new & modified machine start up, to meet productivity targets. Support trouble shooting and problem solving.

6. Perform on site confirmations with designers, for equipment to be installed or modified, to confirm job scope and identify any pre-existing conditions before hand.

7. Support production during initial stage control and activities.

8. This position requires travel and extended stays, to install and adjust equipment at other DENSO affiliated company

4 Years of related experience (panel building, wiring, machine building)

JOB SUMMARY:

For Specialist, Senior Specialist and Advanced Specialist Levels

1. Troubleshoots production processes to identify the root cause of problems and designs, develops, and implements appropriate countermeasures to improve quality, productivity, and safety.

2. May develop, design, test, and implement line modifications and arrangements, devices, fixtures, etc. to obtain continuous improvement of the production processes, achieve cost reduction, and prepare for new product requirements. This may include issuing process control sheets or process change information for the manufacturing processes.

3. Provides technical support to production in order to solve problems related to quality, productivity, safety, etc.

4. May investigate, analyze, and create specifications for kaizen ideas to improve line MOR, productivity, and realize cost savings for the Company and may coordinate the design and installation of kaizen ideas and projects.

5. Originates equipment and parts specifications, purchase orders, and follow-up data to obtain the necessary resources to cover production requirements for current and new products.

6. Coordinates and collaborates in the production of new products and engineering changes to detect and solve problems which may arise prior to the beginning of mass production.

7. May review machine configurations for the most productive methods to assemble multiple products in the same machine.

8. May prepare assembly programs for new products and may perform setup of programs on equipment.

9. May review drawings for parts and may create recognition and visual data for equipment.

10. May coordinate and collaborate in the products' prototype revisions and builds to resolve problems before mass production begins.

11. May be involved in various projects which emphasize process improvement such as productivity improvement and scrap reduction in order to improve quality and reduce costs.

12. May facilitate and attend meetings and prepare reports as necessary based on daily production activities related to Production Engineering.

- Provide technical support to the Production and Maintenance groups to solve problems related to quality, safety, and productivity.

- Develop & execute plans for manufacturing cost reductions with respect to 5M efficiency, including the adaptation of new technologies into the production process.

- Coordinate the implementation of new products and product engineering changes into mass production.

- Establish, document, and maintain the Process Control Plan outlining product quality requirements, process setting conditions, and validation requirements within the product line of responsibility.

- Make recommendations and provide justification for capital investments to be made in the area of responsibility for improvements in quality, safety and productivity.

The Engineering Tech position is for plant 101 Parts Production Engineering. The main emphasis of the position is in the cold forging group. The job description will be to support new product development, machine & process development and line start-up. Additionally the tech position will support daily Production with trouble shooting and kaizen of the existing processes.
